The ADA BLOCKS sale is finished!

Thank you to everyone who bought pieces from the collection and supported the concept along the way. ADA BLOCKS is comprised of 625 NFT art blocks, with the entire work completing a 25x25 square. Now that the sale is complete, a platform will soon be released for owners to mint new NFT compositions of their blocks, passing on the creation of artworks from artist to owner. Keep an eye on Twitter and Discord for updates.

HAPPPY is a group show of Cardano NFT creators launched in December of 2021. The initial launch saw four contributing creators, JRDY, Skull Takes, Wraith, and Jurassik Chained. ADA BLOCKS fifth the fifth addition to the group in the second installment of the show. The show was founded and curated by S T E E L, artist and co-creator behind What Lies Within (w/ EgonFX).

Each contributor created an edition of 200 NFTs, priced at 20ADA each. The collections all took inspiration from HAPPPY, the blockchain smiley, with each artist showcasing their own interpretation of what HAPPPY means to them.

HAPPPY x ADA BLOCKS explores the play between geometric abstraction and figurative symbolism. Emojis have become a lingua franca between countries and cultures around the world, and bring us together in a new era of information exchange and cross-cultural understanding.

The works represent our differential interpretations of emotional perception; happiness is not the same thing to everyone, it is a uniquely subjective state of being. Each piece in the collection is a one-of-one, representing one persons emotional perspective, holding both similarities and differences to that of others. For some, happiness is simple, for others, it can be a complex network of mixed feeling.

This collection comes in four color palettes; moji, tokyo, berlin, and velour; with each set comprising a quarter of the collection. And the works come in five different compositional types; 1x1, 1x2, 1x4, 2x2, and 4x4.

The NFT artworks were available until March 1st, 2022, when the Policy ID locked. Any unminted pieces at that date were burned.

WE CREATE, COLLECT, AND
COLLABORATE

Composition with 9 Blocks #1.png

COMBINABLE

ADA BLOCKS can be combined together to make new art compositions. Matching colors and patterns of each edge creates new visual forms. After all 625 blocks are created and sold, the next stage of the work will be to enable owners to mint compositions.

ADA BLOCKS.056.png

DO-GOOD-ABLE

10% of profits from the sales have been donated to good causes. These donations have so far been made via The Giving Block and Veritree, as chosen by the community.

ADA BLOCKS.061.png

NON-FUNGIBLE

Each ADA BLOCK is a unique 1/1 NFT. The collection is comprised of 625 pieces, based on fundamental geometric forms, from a total of 9 possible colors. Even when rotated or flipped, no two blocks are the same.

ACCESSIBLE

With the mission to give everyone access to art, the first two collections were launched with the Pay What You Want [PWYW] model. As an artist, I want to continue to create affordable art, so that anyone can participate, regardless of means.
